6th 2011. 
Regional PartnershipsWISIONS of Sustainability
The WISIONS initiative has been actively promoting the introduction of sustainable energy solutions and resource efficiency since 2004. During these years, WISIONS has not only become well established, it has also learned a lot about the barriers that still hinder the widespread dissemination of sustainable energy solutions and successful implementation models, especially in developing countries and emerging economies.Our aim with the newly developed Technology Radar is to give a comprehensive overview of the existing renewable energy technologies and their possible future contribution to meeting basic energy needs.
Practical financial support for the implementation of projects and models is provided via the SEPS, the support scheme of WISIONS.

FOOD ISSUES - New Brochure
The
new brochure as well as the current round of SEPS focuses on renewable energy technologies for
community-based solutions related to food preparation and processing. "FOOD ISSUES" is the second brochure of
the Technology Radar. In 2010 WISIONS published "ACCESS TO ELECTRICITY" ( Publications).

WISIONS Technology Radar
In its Technology Radar, WISIONS analyses and presents current and future sustainable energy technology solutions. Our aim is not only to present the technological options and illustrate their social and economic aspects, which are essential considerations if solutions are to be implemented sustainably and successfully, but also to outline the global potential for CO2 reduction and the potential to achieve the Millennium Development Goals via the different renewable energy technologies. Sustainable Energy Project Support - SEPS
WISIONS has launched six rounds of Sustainable Energy Project Support (SEPS) since 2004. SEPS has become a well-established support scheme for sound, sustainable energy projects. A total of 53 SEPS projects have so far been selected for support. They cover a wide range of innovative sustainable energy solutions in some 36 countries. SEPS
Focus of the 7th SEPS round in 2011 is on "Energy for Food processing". The call for SEPS applications was closed mid of August 2011.
Regional partnerships
Regional partnerships for sustainable energy are expected to become an important new element of the WISIONS initiative. These partnerships will promote the demonstration of sustainable energy technologies in key regions by providing financial support to a number of selected projects. Regional Partnerships
Promotion of Resource Efficiency Projects - PREP
WISIONS also promotes good practice in resource efficiency and renewable energy by publicising successful projects via its Promotion of Resource Efficiency Projects (PREP) programme. WISIONS has published 12 PREP brochures featuring more than 50 examples of good practice in sustainable energy and resource efficiency from all over the world. PREP
Who is behind WISIONS?
WISIONS is an initiative of the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy to promote practical and sustainable energy projects. It is organised with the support of the Swiss-based foundation ProEvolution.
The name WISIONS is a combination of the initials of the Wuppertal Institute – ”WI” – and its visions for sustainable development.
