WISONS Supports Workshop on Financing Renewable Energy in South East Asia
he workshop takes place on 5th December in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and will bring together practitioners to exchange knowledge and lessons learned about various funding schemes in clean energy and water. The goal is to share experiences about financial models for clean energy adoption in Southeast Asia.
Energy entrepreneurs throughout Asia provide a range of technological solutions to address the growing demand for sustainable energy services in the region. These local entrepreneurs service low-income rural populations including farmers, small businesses and households with affordable energy access. However, these enterprises often face a serious constraint that limits their ability to grow: access to affordable capital.
The interactive workshop “Financing renewable energy in South East Asia” is organized by Nexus for Development in cooperation with GERES and S3IDF and with support of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and WISIONS. A total of 50-70 energy entrepreneurs, financiers, and other relevant stakeholders are expected to participate on 5th December 2017 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The workshop will include new research on the financing landscape, an interactive roundtable discussion, a practitioner’s showcasing session, and experts sharing learnings from their successes and failures.
