Meet the WISIONS team at the IOREC Conference in Manila

Meet the WISIONS team at the 2nd International Off-grid Renewable Energy Conference, organized by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) in Manila on 16-17 June 2014 and at the 9th Asia Clean Energy Forum, organized by ADB and USAID, on 18-20 June 2014 at ADB Headquarters in Manila.

The IOREC will act as a platform for promoting off-grid renewable energy deployment and will offer the opportunity to gain insights into the current status of energy access, to discuss the key barriers to scaling up off-grid renewable energy deployment faced by various stakeholders, to identify solutions for overcoming existing barriers and to share best practice and lessons learnt about the design and implementation of enabling policies, innovative financing solutions and tailor-made renewable energy systems.

The aim of the 9th Asia Clean Energy Forum is to share best practice among clean energy practitioners, experts in the field, stakeholders from the fields of government, academia, environmental regulation and civil society, as well as other development partners, in order to meet the region’s climate and energy security challenges. In addition to presentations on topics like accelerating energy efficiency, promoting renewable energy and maximizing energy access, the participants will also have the opportunity to exchange knowledge in six deep dive workshops that allow in-depth discussions and give the opportunity to learn both at a very technical and hands on level as well as at at a more macro level.
