Low-cost biodigesters are more than biogas producers – they hold tremendous untapped potential for wastewater treatment. Jaime Martí Herrero reflects on a project that took him from a metropolitan slaughterhouse in Ecuador to Indigenous communities in the Amazon.
First National Meeting of RedBioCOL in Medellín, Colombia
Biogas technologies have the potential to become a key factor in providing a better life to the Latin American and Caribbean population, as these technologies offer excellent alternatives for dealing with huge flows of organic residues which often are the main cause of severe environmental problems in the region.
WISIONS has been actively supporting the work of RedBioCOL, a national network emerging from RedBioLAC, which gathers institutions and individuals involved in Colombia’s biomass energy sector, impulsing the development of biogas technologies.
The First National Meeting of the RedBioCOL will take place at the Universidad Potificia Bolivariana in Medellín, Colombia. Details and contact to the organisers can be found here: Invitacion PrimerEncuentro RedBioCol
