This project implemented by Prokaushali Sangsad Limited (PSL) aimed to demonstrate that portable solar lamps are a sustainable and affordable way to provide energy access to the poorer households in remote islands of Bangladesh. A cooperative of rural women from a distant island of Bangladesh was trained on the production of these portable solar lamps. The objective was that the cooperative get involved in business development, marketing activities and the managing of a revolving fund, which is was expected to financially support 500 households.
